In 2017 alone, there were 19.7 million hashtagged photos of pizza on Instagram worldwide, 1 of 5 Brits has shared an image of food on Social Media or sent one to a friend, and 75% of customers have decided what to eat based on what they saw of Facebook.

Amani’s Kitchen is an ethnographic animated photo essay that explores how digital platforms and the sharing economy have transformed our dining room tables from a private space into an intimate restaurant that thrives on social currency.
