Añú

Tradition, ethical responsibility and impact.
What is the future of marketplaces for those who are outside the digital spectrum?

How do traditions evolve and incorporate themselves into urban cultures?

Añú started as a Future Design project, however, it evolved into a tactical application.

Through a series of Design Futures and Design Thinking methodologies, we identified key signals of change, barriers, and opportunities for digital marketplaces, handicrafts, and artisans.

In order to compete in digital marketplaces, artisans need a digital infrastructure:  professional photography, editing, SEM/SEO knowledge, and product flow that is currently unavailable and out of reach.

Añú is a prototype home decor brand, that is co-design with Mexican artisans. We aim to bring tradition into urban cultures by incorporating artisan textiles into modern homes with new designs that are not easily copied or mass manufactured.

As co-founder of Añú, our future aim is to create new traditions and empower artisans by incorporating design methodologies into traditional workspaces.
